With Spring finally in full bloom I can hardly find the time to sit still and write. Or maybe I just don't want to. What I am actually saying is I would rather tinker in my garden. Being in the garden is one of my happiest times. Ironically, with all the quiet alone time in my garden my mind is always thinking. I find myself with some pretty cool thoughts I want to share, but not the time to share them. Then it hit me. I shall “blogette.” Think of this as ordering off the child’s menu; hopefully just as delicious but a smaller portion.
It is true what you’ve heard, I was dependent on Biotin-also referred to as the Hair, Skin and Nail vitamin. It all happened so innocently. My nails were weak and someone recommended these nail and hair strengthening gummies. I trotted to the local pharmacy and began my regimen of two a day. Well, two became three, then four and before I knew it I was eating them like gummy bears. My rational was they were healthy vitamins and not candy. This went on for many months. Ignorance was bliss-my Biotin and I went everywhere together. Vacations, work events and I even kept a few in my pocketbook just in case!
Here’s the crazy part; those buggers actually worked and I have proof for all you naysayers! I was sitting cloaked in a color poncho as my gray hairs were being covered to maintain my youthful look. I was rambling on and on about how RIDICULOUS it is that now I need to color my hair every three weeks when she said kindly, “You are lucky Allison, some of my customers are losing their hair. It is because your hair is so strong and grows so fast you are needing color so often.” While her words swirled in my head along with the guilt for my "first world rant" it dawned on me, the biotin was responsible for this new unacceptable hair coloring timetable. So I went cold turkey, survived my detox shakes and guess what? I am sitting here writing to you going on five weeks without needing color. Yes, I have to give my roots a good color cover spray before I go public, but I can go public!
Moral: If you know anyone struggling with either hair growth or voracious gray hairs; be a doll and share this blogette with them.
with honesty,
A little thing you should know: If you are like me and try stretching time between gray coloring applications I want to share a product that helps me-Style Edit; root concealer. I am not a paid spokesperson; not getting a bounce back, not looking for company sponsorship. Just looking to help a fellow friend!
These are just a few of the products I have purchased and used....
